You will need:

Coastal Cabana cardstock:

• 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"
• (2) 7/8" x 2-7/8" rectangle (Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies)
• (2) 2-1/8" square (Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies)
• 1-1/2" x 2-3/4" hexagon (Stitched Nested Labels Dies)

Basic Black cardstock:

• 1-5/8" x 3-5/8" rectangle (Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies)
• 2-1/2" and 3" ovals (Layering Ovals Framelits Dies)
• (2) 1/4" punched circles

Blushing Bride cardstock:

• 3" x 5-1/2"

Smoky Slate cardstock:

• (2) - 1/2" punched circles Smoky Slate circles

Real Red punched heart (Heart to Heart Punch - retired)

Stampin' Dimensionals

1. Fold large Coastal Cabana card in half to create your card base.
2. Cut one end of the two 2-7/8" rectangles at a diagonal and attach to the top of the card, forming a V-neck collar; trim. Attach the Blushing Bride cardstock piece to the inside front flap of the card covering the V-neck opening.
3. Cut the large oval in half and glue the pieces to each side of the V-neck.
4. Cut the smaller oval at two thirds and attach to the bottom of the left of the oval strip. Add the small Smoky Slate and black circles to the ends.
5. Print your Share Sunshine PDF sentiment of choice on a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock; trim to 1-1/4" x 3-1/4". Mount to the 3-5/8" black cardstock piece.
6. Trim the hexagon piece to form a pocket shape. Glue over the right end of the stethoscope using Stampin' Dimensionals. Add red heart to the center of the pocket.
7. Add 2-'1/8" squares at a diagonal on either side of the card to form sleeves. (These will need to be folded forward if you want to put them in a regular A2 envelope).

Make a bunch and take them to your local emergency room!

Designer Series Paper Shirts

As soon as I saw Stampin' Up!'s Tropical Oasis Designer Series paper I knew I wanted to make some shirt cards.  I was so excited when another demonstrator by the name of Melissa Luedtke did all the work for me by creating these awesome designs and sharing her instructions.  I made a few tweaks to the instructions that made more sense to my brain and began creating...and creating...and creating.  I couldn't stop!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these shirts and in two days made 48 of them!!!

Here are the written instructions.  Currently you can watch the online class showing how to make these on my https://www.facebook.com/Stampwithjeanne page.  If I can get this to video to download, I'll add the video here.

You will need:

• 1 sheet of 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
• 3 buttons
• A cutter or scissors
• Adhesives (Mini Glue Dots, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail)

Instructions (one sheet of 12” x 12” DSP makes two cards):

1. Cut a piece of 12” x 12” Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper at 8”, paying close attention to the direction of the paper. The top of the pattern should be at the top of the cutter (imagine vertical stripes).
2. Turn the 8” paper and trim to create two pieces that are 5-7/8” x 8”.
3. Score each piece along the 8” edge at 2” and 6”. Be careful not to press too hard or the paper will rip.
4. With the 5-7/8” side of the paper at the top of the trimmer, score at 5/8”. Once again, pay attention to the direction of your paper. The pattern is now horizontal.
5. Move the paper over on the trimmer to 1-1/4” (5/8” below the score line) and cut a slice from the top to the 3” mark and the bottom to the 5” mark.
6. Looking at the side you want on the outside, fold at the 5/8” score line to the back and burnish with a bone folder. Do not press too hard or the paper will crack and you will see white.  If that happens, you can color the edges with a coordinating LIGHT Stampin’ Blend.
7. Fold the 2” sides to meet in the middle (don’t worry if the ends do not touch, this area will be covered later); burnish.
8. Trim the collar strip ends to the edges of the card. You are cutting 2” from each side along the score lines.
9. Gently work the collar pieces to the front, getting the top corners to touch in a point that is close to the center of the shirt. When you like where the ends are, burnish your collar folds.
10. Draw LIGHT pencil lines along the top of the folded collar edges to use as a guide for placing your Stampin’ Dimensionals. Place the dimensionals between the pencil lines and the top shirt edge.
11. Fold the collar ends back over the top to adhere.
    
    
12. Cut two ½” x 4" strips off the 4" x 12" paper piece, rotate the paper and cut at 2-1/8” to create a piece that is 2-1/8” x 11” and one that is 1-7/8” x 11”. Use the 1-7/8” piece to cut four 1-5/8” squares using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and two 1-3/4” hexagon rectangles using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Use the picture below as a guide for aligning your dies (you may need to align your dies a little closer than the picture shows). The side of the DSP that you want to show on the card should be facing up on your cutting surface.
13. Now for the tricky part. Creating the shirt plackets (the strip behind the buttons) requires three passes through the die-cutting machine. Cut the 2-1/8” strip of DSP at 5-1/8”. Using the 5-1/8” piece, place the DSP on the cutter surface right side up. Center the largest Stitched Rectangle Framelits die along one edge. This will create stitching lines on three sides of the paper. Trim the paper to 4-11/16” and align the corner of the die to the corner of the DSP that does not have stitching lines yet. This will create a stitching line around all four sides of the DSP.  Now align the die down the center of the rectangle to create two pieces.  Be careful to place the DSP within the center of the die opening so the end is not accidently cut off. 
    
    
14. Glue the placket to the center of the shirt using adhesive along the edge of the right front flap only.
    
15. Use two of the Stitched Squares that were cut in Step 11 to form the shirt sleeves. The squares are attached to the back of the card at an angle.
16. Fold one end of the long hexagon down to form a pocket shape. Add to the front of the shirt on the left side.
17. Add buttons down the shirt placket.
18. Strengthen the shirt by gluing a 3-5/8” x 4-1/4” piece of thick white cardstock to the inside of the card. Add the ½” strip cut in Step 11 to the bottom of the white card.
19. Stamp the back of your cards with “Stamped by” image; sign.
20. Don’t forget to decorate your envelope too! Use the Timeless Tropical stamp set to add image of choice on the front and the remaining piece of DSP to the envelope flap (you will only have enough DSP for one envelope).  The sleeves will need to be folded forward for the shirt to fit in an A2 envelope.

I hope you enjoyed creating these shirts.  They would be great out of any of our beautiful Designer Series Papers.  Look at the ones I designed with the Country Club DSP.

Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card

I hope you were able to join me today for our Motivation Monday Facebook Live.  In case you didn't know about my new online classes, I will be hosting a variety of Facebook Lives throughout the month.  From stamping one quick project on Mondays to full Online Classes, I hope to be able to share my love of stamping with you more and more. 

Today the card project was designed to motivate you to think outside the box when it comes to our Memories & More card packs.  A lot of my card makers skip over these wonderful products thinking that they are "just" for scrapbooking.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  The double-sided cards have wonderful designs for backgrounds, ones the can be used in place of stamping sentiments, and journal designs that are perfect for the inside of your cards.  Add a little texture with embossing folders and your projects will look like they're made with high quality papers.

Directions and measurements:

1. Fold a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock half.  Set aside.
2. Optional:  Add texture to a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of (Espresso pattern) Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder.  Glue the DSP to a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Early Espresso cardstock.  Add three, 5-1/2" pieces of Burlap Trim around the card, gluing on the front side with liquid glue and taping the ends to the back with Scotch tape. Add Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the card and adhere to the front flap of the Very Vanilla card you created in Step 1.
3. Stamp a sentiment of choice in the center of the "My Happy Place" memory card in Early Espresso ink.  Allow to dry.  Optional:  Add texture to the 3" x 4" memory card with the Subtle 3D embossing folder to give it a linen look.  Glue to the front of your card over the Burlap trim strips with Stampin' Dimensionals.
4. Layer a 1/2" piece of blue DSP to a 3/4" piece of Espresso DSP along the right edge; up about 1/4" from the bottom of the Espresso strip.  Pull one thread out of a piece of Burlap Trim and wrap it around the two strips in the form of an "X".  Tape ends to the back.  Using mini glue dots, adhere one of the pineapple trinkets to the center of the "X".  Glue the strips to the front of the card covering the "My Happy Place" sentiment.  You can skip this step if you want to write your own sentiment inside that makes sense, such as "My Happy Place" (on the front) "is with you" (on the inside).
5. Decorate the inside of the card if desired.  I used a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of palm tree pattern DSP, a 3/8" x 4" strip of Espresso DSP, and a 3-1/8" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock on the inside of my card.  For the final touch, I added one of the floral die-cut stickers from the Memories & More card pack.

Welcome Easter Waterfall Card

 
I had so much fun making these waterfall cards for my family and friends this year.  The waterfall cards are definitely my favorite fancy fold cards.  Years ago I used this template for our Christmas cards and people tell me they just can't bear to part with it after all these years.  I'll post pictures below for you.

Directions:

1. Stamp one each of the 2-1/4" watercolor squares with the chick, lamb, bunny, and Happy Easter with flowers images in Stazon Black ink.  Color using your favorite coloring techniques.  I watercolored with Aqua Painters and ink refills, but watercolor pencils, Stampin' Blends, and Stampin' Write markers would work well too. If you're not watercoloring switch the small white image squares to either Whisper White or Shimmery White cardstock.  Stampin' Blends would require a Memento Black inkpad (132708). When dry, glue the chick, lamb, and bunny to 2-1/2” Coastal Cabana squares. 
2. Score a piece of 2-1/2” x 10” Coastal Cabana cardstock along the 10” edge at 2-1/2”, 3-1/4”, 4”, and 4-3/4”. Fold in half at the 4-3/4" score line.  Then fold at the remaining score lines towards the inside (mountain fold).  Burnish all of the scorelines to get a crisp fold. 
3. Glue the ends only of a 3-/4" x 4-1/4" white cardstock strip to a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP), approximately 5/8” from the bottom using Tear & Tape or another strong adhesive. Do not put glue in the center as your Cabana cardstock strip has to go behind this piece.  Trim the white strip end off using the DSP as a guide.
4. Glue the DSP to the 4” x 5-1/4” white cardstock piece and then glue the white cardstock piece to a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock. 
5. Fold the 10” Coastal Cabana cardstock piece that you created in Step 2 at the center 4-3/4" score line.  Slide the back of the 10” strip (section without the score lines) between the DSP and 3/4” white strip aligning the top fold line to the top edge of the white piece bordering the DSP (be sure to center the strip on the card front).  Holding the top steady, lift the front flap and add 2-1/2” of adhesive to the center of the white cardstock strip.  Close the front flap of the Coastal Cabana strip flat.  This will glue the Coastal Cabana strip to the white strip.  You should now be able to pull the back flap of the Cabana strip down creating your flipping  mechanism.  
6. Glue the Happy Easter square to the center of the Cabana strip front flap below the first score line.  Then glue the rabbit square to the strip just below the second score line, the lamb square to the third score line, and the chick along the top score line with Tear & Tape adhesive. 
7. Punch a hole in the bottom of the Cabana strip, add ribbon.

Cutting measurements:

• Coastal Cabana cardstock : 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", 2-1/2" x 10", 2-1/2" squares (3), 1/4" circles (6)
• Whisper White Thick cardstock:  4" x 5-1/4" and 3/4" x 4-1/4"
• Fluid Watercolor Paper: 2-1/4" squares (4)
• Designer Series Paper: 3-3/4" x 5"
• Ribbon:  6"
