Today a group of wonderful women got together to stamp cards, share friendship and do something special for women living with breast cancer. This is one of my very favorite annual events and to say that I was excited is an understatement. It was all about the pink and I've been planning the day's events, menu, and projects for weeks. Each day I'd check to see if any more donations came in and was thrilled every time we raised enough to purchase the supplies for one more kit. In my heart that means one more woman will be touched by a random act of kindness when comfort is needed most.
We stamped 330 cards, put together stampin' kits, ate a great lunch, enjoyed the candy bar and Kdy's yummy cupcakes, plus made some new friends...all while doing something nice for someone going through a difficult time. It was a great day. In the words of a friend, we had shrimp so it was a really good party :-) I want to sincerely thank everyone who made our dream come true. Because of your generosity with both time and money, we were able to sponsor 43 kits!!!! That is sooo awesome! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
A very special shout out to our 2011 Sponsor of the Year, Deborah Rapport! You rock girlfriend! Your generosity is overwhelming.
Here's a sample of the kit that we will be delivering to the local breast center:
It includes the beautiful Strength & Hope stamp set, a Basic Black and Melon Mambo ink pad, Rhinestones (gotta have the bling!), a black marker, a glue stick, notecards and envelopes, ten stamped cards, a thank you stamp, and a personal card signed by everyone who joined us for the fun today. On the front is a tag with little poem I wrote that is meant to share some encouragement. I truly hope that our gift adds a little ray of sunshine to what is sure to be a gray day.
