I wanted to try something new for Card of the Month and featured a stamp set called Really Retro to show how you can create cards using only sentiments and embellishments. I forgot what I was doing in the middle of designing these cards and mistakenly added a few stamped images...the leaves on the pink card, the swirl on the tag, and the hello heart on the red card...oops. So, what could I have done if I was paying attention to my goal? First, I would have cut Olive colored felt flowers into leaf shapes and used those instead of stamping the leaves. Second, I would have sponged ink around the tag, or even used a marker to make the dots. Third, I would have added a smaller punched red flower in the center of the green flower. The point is that it is possible to design some fun cards even if you don't have a closet full of image stamp sets. I believe that you can never have too many sentiment sets and if you add some fun embellishments like our felt flowers, die cut flowers, or even some punches, you're going to create some great cards that you and your friends will love!
