Another one of my favorite techniques...faux metal. When I pulled this project out to post it, I realized that I made a mistake on the directions. To create the background of the card, you emboss the design in silver and then use the baby wipe technique to dye the paper. I think you would have figured that one out, but I thought I should clarify just in case.
I know, I know...the Roof Garden Accents & Elements are retired, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't use what we purchased...right? Actually, I choose what I'm going to feature for the Page of the Month the previous month. So, that means I chose and ordered the Roof Garden products for Page of the Month in December. I just love the Upsy Daisy stamp set. Even though I couldn't think of an out-of-the-box design this time, I still wanted to feature this stamp set for our Card of the Month Club. I decided to focus on techniques. The January Card of the Month projects use embossing, shadowing, the baby wipe technique and one of the coolest techniques I've tried in a long time, watercoloring over craft ink and finishing with cracked glass...LOVE IT!!!! I don't know the official name for the technique, but I want to thank Heather K. for posting her design. It's so perfect, I completely case'd it!
I was also inspired by Lisa Somerville and Diane Pappas. Thanks ladies! It's hard to believe that all of these cards were made with the same stamp...amazing!

Tip: To create the patchwork quilt background, lay out your 1-1/4" squares wrong side up, side-by-side to create a square. Tape the pieces together with scotch tape, then adhere to the cardstock square as one piece.
Yesterday I realized that I had a baby shower to go to today for a wonderful family friend who just had a beautiful baby boy. Kelly loves to scrapbook, but with two boys under the age of 17 months, she's a little busy. I decided a handmade scrapbook would be a perfect shower gift. So, last night I pulled out my supplies and started scrappin' the night away. I used the Rock-a-Bye Boy Simply Scrappin' kit and Bashful Blue Designer Paper to create a fun book that will capture memories of several special occasions and events throughout Ethan's first year. The book was a HUGE hit at the shower with several ladies wanting to know how they could get one for their little ones. I explained that I sell kits and also completed albums and they were thrilled!
